Honey-Soaked Arugula, Dried Figs and Brie Salad

Ingredients:
A package of brie cheese - sliced or diced
2 cups of dried figs
2 cups of arugula
2 orange slices
2 tbspn (I used rosemary honey)
1/2 cup basil leaves

Method:
Combine all the ingredients and place them together in a bowl or platter. Drizzle it all with honey.
You might as well squeeze the orange for extra juicy flavour.

Veredict:
This is such a drop dead simple and easy salad to make. You don't even have to cook anything, really. Besides, it looks gourmet-ish once on the table! As you (should) know, figs contain plenty of fibre; honey and brie match perfectly; the orangey citric acid will bring out all these healthy flavours. It's also a fresh vegan-friendly side or starter. You can also add balsamic vinegar, for a more mediterranean approach.

♥ Sunday Best ♥ #41

Erin O'Connor at her very best! I can't decide what I like the most: her kimono, her bobbed hair, her shoes or the garden!

I don't know where this is but I want to be there.

Her outfit is so pretty! Love the boots and the dress and cardi combo is just adorable.

Here is an incredibly interesting article about the Choctaw's tribal generosity. These people helped the starving poor Irish during the potato famine in a way that History cannot forget.

I can imagine myself hanging out with my friends in this terrace.

A Study in Tweed? Yes, please! Oh Lord, even the tie is perfect.

These women were so bloody badass, I couldn't not mention them! "An onna-bugeisha (女武芸者) was a female warrior.
Many wives, widows, daughters, and rebels answered the call of duty by engaging in battle, commonly alongside samurai men.
They were members of the bushi (samurai) class in feudal Japan and were trained in the use of weapons to protect their household, family, and honour in times of war. They also represented a divergence from the traditional "housewife" role of the Japanese woman." How awesome!

Weekly Randoms #5

These two kept me busy for the last couple of weeks.

My organic mushrooms keep on growing. Mycology is a fascinating thing, isn't it?

How about my attempt at graphic design? Business cards, bitch!

My late night snacks have been quite... nourishing, as you can see.

Me being all flapperesque, getting ready for Quiz Night on Thursday.

Guess which recipe I have planned to make my first collaborating post on Lisboa Vintage! Keep your eyes open for it!
