Ron Hicks

Remember this name: Ron Hicks. This middle-aged artist grew up in Ohio and attended classes at the Columbus College of Art and Design on scholarship. Eventually he moved West and graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art and also worked as a freelance illustrator for a while. I am smitten with his beautifully impressionist and emotionally charged paintings - the figures, the interiors, the shapes, the muted pallette, the moody atmospheric tone... The layers of emotion unravelled by brushstrokes make me wonder what's the story behind the painting.

Pale Warmth

I haven't had the time to update this blog properly. I am always working and the only day off I have is usually meant to be spent resting, sleeping and eating without being in a hurry. No outfit posts so far because: a) I look terrible with this panda-like dark circles and b) I can't be bothered with playing dress up when it's so hot outside. I envy those who are lucky enough to be on holidays right now.
