Annie Monroe for Dear Creatures in "Girl About Town"

It is beyond obvious that I have always been passionate about Dear Creatures, the whimsical independent designer duo you are probably familiar with through ModCloth and Urban Outfitters. For a first glimpse of Autumn, Dear Creatures has just released a clothing line featuring the ultra-cool Annie Monroe (The Like's keyboardist!) as this season's it girl. I've always had a crush on Annie and I couldn't imagine any other model doing a better job at pulling off some chic, pretty 60's-inspired frocks than herself.
These clothes are stylish and cool with an inspiring, evocative urban feel pairing with a positively nostalgic overdose of retro cuts, prints and patterns. It's like the contemporary young lady reveals herself elegantly as the classic New Yorker, the worker girl going yé-yé and enjoying her day off. First thing that came to mind when I came across this campaign (brilliantly photographed by Yudi Ela Echevarria) was: "Oh, Wes Anderson meets Mad Men! That's swell!". The dim shades of beige, the muted mustard, navy and oxblood hues really epitomize the ultimate Autumn dream wardrobe! The city backdrop is the modern twist in this marvellous mod tale, don't you think?
The collection is available on the official Dear Creatures shop and ModCloth with more to be released in October.

  3. This totally reminds me of that 60s television show "That Girl" with Marlo Thomas. If you've never seen it, I assure you, you would LOVE it judging by your aesthetic. I love this campaign.

  5. Só gosto dos vestidos e do casaco comprido, mas a saia com blusinha para dentro não é nada o meu género... enfim, não percebo nada de moda!...
