Memory Lane: Jumanji (1995)

Jumanji was one of the highlights of my childhood. I've watched it over and over again and it never gets old. Poisonous plants, giant spiders, mad monkeys, heavy rain, agressive pelicans... Whoever played that jungle-themed supernatural game would be entering some serious hardcore safari shit! I used to imagine myself playing that magical board game, it would've been quite an adventure. And I'm sure you all felt the same way if you watched this movie when you were kids.
Based on a children's book, this film is great for intense family fun, packed with graphics that we might consider... laughable, to say the least. But they sure were a great deal back in the 90s! I was fucking impressed! And you know what? Those jungle drums still echo in my mind and send a shudder down my spine. Everytime.

  3. Jumanji was sooooo good! I thought it was supercreepy and supercool at the same time. It's so horrid to say, but I kind of forgot all about this movie! And it's only now that I realized that Kirsten Dunst starred in this. Thanks for the trip down memory lane ;)

  8. I still love this film and watch it whenever it's on TV. It's so strange seeing Kirsten Dunst as a child actor!

  11. thank you so much for your kind words nancy! and for your answers! i note down your advices. tavira seems to be so lovely, thank you so much, it is always better to not only follow tourist guides. so, is albufeira really not worth it? when i see the pictures it is so incredible (i just spent 4 hours at the library looking at travel books on algarve) but i guess by what you say that it's full of tourists in the summer, which is totally not what i want, i mean, crowded beaches. if you know any good places in lisboa i am interested too :) thank you so much.

ps: what a great movie reference! i watched it again two months ago and it made me feel so old. also i had the jumanji board game when i was a child.
